What ready-to-wear really means

Ready-to-wear — prêt-à-porter — is designed to a standard size grid and produced in advance. You choose your size, try the piece, and take it home the same day. Our ready-to-wear collection translates the principles of tailoring — the line of a shoulder, the fall of a trouser, the weight of a lapel — into pieces cut in Paris from premium European fabrics, many sourced from the dormant stock of Italian and French mills.

It is the right choice when you want a considered, architectural piece without the lead time, or when you are discovering the house for the first time. Sizing follows a clear grid, and minor adjustments can usually be handled by a local tailor.

What made-to-measure adds

Made-to-measure begins from an existing pattern that is then adapted to your body: sleeve length, waist suppression, shoulder slope, trouser break. You are not designing a garment from nothing — you are refining a proven silhouette until it sits precisely on you.

Expect at least one fitting and a production window of a few weeks. What you gain is a garment that follows your posture rather than an average of thousands of bodies. For anyone caught between standard sizes, or with a build that off-the-rack rarely respects, the difference is immediate.

And then there is bespoke couture

Beyond made-to-measure lies bespoke — a garment built from a pattern created for you alone, in fabrics such as silk, tulle and jacquard, often finished with delicate hand embroidery.
